Dr. Dvorkin is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip injuries, knee injuries,,shoulder injuries, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, and joint replacement surgery. He is a graduate of The Washington University school of medicine in St. Louis. Following his internship at The University of Rochester in Rochester NY, Dr. Dvorkin completed his residency program at George Washington University in Washington D.C. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and The Maryland Orthopedic Society. He is presently Chief of orthopedic surgery at Franklin Square Hospital Center
Dr. Gubernick is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee, shoulder and general orthopedics. He received his medical degree from Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency programs at the West Virginia University Hospital. Dr. Gubernick now serves as Medical Staff President at Franklin Square Hospital.
Dr. Gold is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who received his orthopedic training at The University of Maryland Hospital and its affiliate hospitals. He completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at The University of Pennsylvania, and completed his joint replacement training at The Anderson Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Gold has been at Franklin Square Hospital since 1993 where he helped establish The Joint Institute in 2004. In addition to hip, knee and shoulder replacements Dr. Gold specializes in sports medicine, fracture care, and general orthopedic surgery. He has been a leader in computer assisted joint replacement surgery and is now involved in training other physicians in this ground breaking procedure.
David Lumsden, M.D., M.S., M.A. practices general orthopedic surgery and trauma as a board certified surgeon and partner with Orthopedic and Hand Surgery Associates. Dr. Lumsden completed his training in community health at Towson State University, earned masters degree in Anatomy/Neuroanatomy at University of Maryland/Baltimore and Exercise Physiology at University of Maryland/College Park. He is a graduate of Penn State University School of Medicine. Dr. Lumsden completed his internship and residency at Union Memorial Hospital with associative residency training at Johns Hopkins and Shock Trauma.

Dr. Cohen is a board eligible Orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. His interests include treatment of disorders of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle. He specializes in arthroscopic treatment of knee ligament and cartilage injuries as well as shoulder instability and rotator cuff tears. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Union Memorial Hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute at the University of Miami. During his time in Miami, Dr. Cohen assisted with the treatment of the University of Miami Hurricane’s football team as well as Florida International University. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Cheesman obtained his Bachelors degree, from Western Maryland College in Exercise Science with a focus on Injury Prevention, and Sport Performance. After graduation, he attended Slippery Rock University, where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Following an eight month residency in outpatient/inpatient Orthopedics, Dr. Cheesman became a staff Physical Therapist with Potomac Valley Sports Medicine, in Columbia, Maryland. While at Potomac Valley Sports Medicine, he was directly involved in initiating sport specific rehabilitation protocols for High School, Collegiate, and recreational athletes.
For the past three years, Dr. Cheesman has been the Director of Rehabilitation for Orthopedic & Hand Surgery Associates, in Baltimore, Maryland, specializing in pre/post operative care, spinal dysfunction, and sport specific rehabilitation.
Professionally, Dr. Cheesman has also worked with the Nationwide Professional Golf Tour, as well Operation Walk Maryland providing Joint Replacements to patients around the world who may not have the opportunity.
Ryan Zimmerman, PT, DPT graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in April 2005. He graduated locally with a B.A. in biology from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in 2002. Ryan is manually trained with emphasis in spinal injuries, knees and shoulders. He also has special training in myofascial release techniques and sacroiliac joint. He loves to be outdoors and stuggles every summer with the game of golf. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland in April 2005, married in July 2005 and become a proud father in September 2008.
